Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What can I expect at my first physical therapy appointment?

Your first physical therapy session at Pinpoint Physical Therapy lasts 60 minutes in a private, welcoming space. During this time, you will meet one-on-one with an experienced Physical Therapist and owner, Amy Paribello. We start by reviewing the patient history forms you filled out in advance, so we can fully understand your background, injury, or condition. From there, we’ll discuss your personal goals—whether that’s returning to a sport, being pain-free at work, or simply moving with confidence again.

Will there be an evaluation or assessment?

Let's talk and see how we can help you meet your physical therapy goals.  We offer many services including wellness consultation, injury prevention, ergonomic assessments, and treatment for injuries from head to toe.  If you have 5 minutes schedule a complimentary consultation

What happens after the evaluation?

After the assessment, your therapist will clearly explain the findings and outline a step-by-step treatment plan. This personalized plan is designed around your specific goals and will include strategies to reduce pain, restore mobility, and improve strength and function.  We will start the treatment during the first visit, and treatment may include soft tissue mobility work, cupping, joint mobilization, exercise prescription, kinesiotaping, dry needling and more.

How will I feel leaving my first visit?

Our goal is for every patient to leave the first appointment feeling empowered. You’ll have a clear understanding of what’s causing your pain, how we will address it, and what your journey to recovery will look like. Patients often share that their first visit gives them peace of mind, motivation, and confidence knowing there’s a clear path forward to healing and achieving their goals.

Do I need to prepare anything before my first visit?

Yes—please complete the new patient history forms sent to you in advance. This allows us to spend your session focusing on your goals, assessment, and treatment plan instead of paperwork. Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily for the assessment.  Often shorts and/or a tank top are helpful.

Do you take insurance at Pinpoint Physical Therapy?

At Pinpoint Physical Therapy, we believe in providing the highest level of personalized care for every patient. We are primarily an out-of-network provider with most insurance plans, with the exception of Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO.

What does "out-of-network" mean for me as a patient?

For most insurances, we request payment at the time of service (approximately $150 per session with a discount for upfront payment).

We will provide you with a detailed receipt called a “Superbill.” You can submit this to your insurance company to request reimbursement for any out-of-network physical therapy benefits you may qualify for. If eligible, your insurance company will send the reimbursement directly to you.

Please note: Medicare patients cannot submit claims for reimbursement for services received at our clinic, per Medicare guidelines.

What form of payment do you accept?

For your convenience, we accept a variety of payment methods, including:

HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) cards

All major credit cards

Cash

Zelle

This flexibility makes it easier for patients to use pre-tax dollars or their preferred payment method for care.

What if I have Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO?

If you are a Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO member, we will bill BCBS directly on your behalf. You are responsible for any portion that your insurance does not cover, such as:

Meeting your deductible

Coinsurance or copays

Any services BCBS denies

The approximate contracted rate for a 60-minute session with BCBS is $175. We will verify your benefits before your first visit so you know exactly what to expect.

Why does Pinpoint Physical Therapy remain out-of-network with most insurance carriers?

It’s simple: this model allows us to provide higher-quality, one-on-one care for the entire 60-minute session. Unlike many in-network clinics where therapists may see multiple patients at once, our approach means you get personalized attention, faster results, and often fewer visits overall (many patients only need one session per week). This saves both time and money in the long run while ensuring the best outcomes.
